EP commissioned project

I recently collaborated with Red King (Tommy Dey), a Dundee-born, Glasgow-based grime artist, to develop the visual identity for his latest EP. It’s been an incredibly rewarding project, spanning everything from the EP cover art and individual track visuals to designing merchandise and capturing behind-the-scenes content.

Red King doesn’t just make music; he builds an entire atmosphere. His sound—a unique, immersive blend of sci-fi, dark, and synth-heavy grime—demands visuals that hit just as hard. His music videos, in particular, are captivating, perfectly capturing the industrial, Brutalist, and darker sides of Glasgow. My goal was to create artwork that felt like a natural extension of that aesthetic, ensuring a cohesive look across the entire project.

The collaboration process felt effortless. Red King already had such a distinct vision, and it was a pleasure to help him translate those concepts into tangible designs. We were a great creative match; I understood exactly how to mirror the intensity of his videos within the static artwork, helping to bring his full artistic vision to life.

We had the idea of making the shadow figures from the Sleepless artwork into a limied edition of 28 clay figurines that were given to those who bought the EP vinyl and the T-shirt.

T-shirt designs featuring Red King's logo and signature at the front and a custom made King illustration on the back with elements inspired from Sleepless ( Black T-shirt ) and Petals ( White T-shirt)
